Sadly for Cleveland Browns fans, the focus of the NFL season has already turned to the upcoming NFL draft. For decades, Browns fans would turn to the solace of knowing that another losing season could lead to a draft class that would finally turn the tables from the years and years of losing.
This year was supposed to be different in Cleveland. A great roster coming off a playoff appearance was supposed to compete for even more in 2024.
Instead, a historically bad offense, questions about QB Deshaun Watson and, as of Tuesday, trading WR Amari Cooper has the NFL draft right back at the forefront of conversations around the Browns.
Back in August, after trading away DT Chris Williams and the conditional trade of kicker Cade York, which didn’t pan out, we shared that Cleveland had eight draft picks including each of their own in the first four rounds.
Now, after acquiring a third-round pick from the Buffalo Bills and giving back a sixth-rounder, the Browns 2025 NFL draft pick haul is still at eight but with another premium selection:
After having one or two picks in the first 100 the last few years due to the Watson trade, Cleveland heads into the 2025 draft with four of them and, as of now, very high selections due to their record.
With a few more tradeable players, the Browns roster and set of draft picks could change again over the next three weeks before the NFL trade deadline.
