Some of the biggest names competing at the 2025 Genesis Invitational fell off the top of the leaderboard during Moving Day, but it is nevertheless tight at the top entering the final round of competition at the PGA Tour’s latest signature event. Patrick Rodgers holds a one-stroke lead over Denny McCarthy entering the final 18 holes with Ludvig Åberg right behind them looking for an exclamation-point victory in his sophomore season.
Tony Finau, Patrick Cantlay and Tommy Fleetwood are among the group four shots back of Rodgers, while Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler — all five shots in the rear view — can be considered within striking distance. McIlroy, Scheffler and Hideki Matsuyama (six back) have combined to win all eight signature events since the start of the 2024 PGA Tour season, and it will take a heroic effort for one of them to keep that streak going on Sunday at Torrey Pines Golf Club.
