Lando Norris secured pole position for the Qatar sprint, at the Lusail International Circuit. The Briton set a mighty 1:21.012, to top a McLaren one-three.
Oscar Piastri was just under two tenths adrift in third, behind George Russell who completed the front row in second.
It was a disappointing sprint qualifying for Ferrari, as Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc secured fourth and fifth, respectively. Four-time world champion Max Verstappen claimed sixth.
Sergio Perez will start the Qatar sprint from 16th, following yet another exit in the first part of a qualifying session.
