OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – The City of Olathe, LANE4 Property Group and Austin’s Bar and Grill are partnering to open a restaurant project in Downtown Olathe.
A 100-year-old building will be renovated in County Square Commons, which will be over 10,000 square feet of restaurant space.
The building will be preserved while adding two rooftop patios.
“Downtown Olathe has arrived at a tipping point. After years of re-investment by the City and private developers, the vision for one of the most dynamic suburban downtown districts in the region is really coming together,” said LANE4 Managing Partner Michael Berenbom. “With the City’s 80+ annual events and dynamic programming, we are excited to be in the heart of the action.”
There are four to five retail storefronts planned that will be anchored by Austin’s Bar and Grill. The restaurant will occupy the south end and a rooftop patio on the second floor.
The upscale sports bar concept has been part of Olathe since 1987 and it will be the third location in Olathe and the fourth location in south Johnson County.
“Austin’s is Olathe born and bred. From the time we first opened our doors almost 40 years ago, to this opportunity to be part of the downtown renaissance, we have watched this community grow from a small town to one of the most dynamic and fastest growing cities in the region,” Brandon Blum, Austin’s Partner said.
Occupying the north end will be Fifth and Emery Frozen Yogurt and Chocolate. Planning is still underway for other local restaurants and storefronts, including the other rooftop patio.
