Mauricio Pochettino’s U.S. side tasted victory once again as they saw off Venezuela in a friendly at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium on Saturday.
Scorers: McGlynn 37′, Agyemang 39′, Miljevic 64′ ; Yriarte 68′
With only domestically-based American players in the January camp, it was an unfamiliar looking side for Mauricio Pochettino.
But the new-boss would surely have been pleasantly surprised with the opening 45 minutes as the U.S. bagged two goals in as many minutes from Jack McGlynn, and Patrick Agyemang respectively.
The first of the two quick-fire goals was a superb strike from the Philadelphia Union man, who lashed it in from deep outside of the box.
It was much of the same after the break, as Matko Miljevic made up for a missed penalty in the first-half, scoring on the break to extend the United States’ lead to three past the hour mark.
Venezuela did peg one back however, thanks to second-half sub Jorge Yriarte, but it was merely consolation as the U.S. regained control and saw out the match.
