Zeelugt, Goed Fortuin, and Canal #2 recorded contrasting wins when the West Demerara Cricket Association (WDFA) 50-Over Championship commenced.
Zeelugt defeated VNS by 112 runs. Batting first, Zeelugt were dismissed for 225 in 33 overs. Tameshwar Dass top scored with 41 (4x6s, 3x4s), while Natram Dass added 27 runs. Mohan Chaitram was the primary threat with the ball as he snared 4-40 while Ronaldo Persaud added 2-31.
In response, VNS were dismissed for 113 in 43. 1 overs. Trevaine Mohabir tailed 3-41 while Omar Shakoor reworked 2-40. Adding 2-42 was Romel Jacobs.
