LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women’s golf senior Toa Yokoyama was selected as the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. This is the fourth time she has received a Mountain West weekly or monthly award in her career and the second time this season.
The Tokyo native led the Rebels to a second-place finish to start the spring at the San Diego State Classic, finishing only behind No. 1 Stanford. She recorded a season-low-tying tournament score at 6-under 210 (67-71-72), a season-low round with a second-round 5-under 67, and dropped in a season-high 17 birdies.
The performance marked Yokoyama’s fourth top-10 outing of the 2024-25 campaign, including second third-place effort, and moved her up to No. 50 in the national player rankings.
