Whatever your experience on a golf course, you are invited to join the YMCA in changing lives by participating in the 37th annual Changing Lives Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 13 at Crestwood Golf Club, 6315 NY-291, Marcy.
The Corporate Cup Challenge begins with breakfast from 8-9 a.m. and a 9 a.m. shotgun start with carts. Lunch and awards will be held at 2 p.m. with a closing ceremony at 3 p.m.
“For 37 years, our sponsors and golfers have helped provide funding for those in need to receive YMCA memberships and participate in Y programs,” CEO Hank Leo said in a news release. “For example, for every $200 raised through this tournament, a child can attend Y Summer Camp or receive a YMCA membership.”
The annual Changing Lives Golf Tournament is held in memory of Frank Martinelli, whose commitment to the Y’s mission was unwavering. Martinelli was a past Y member and president of the YMCA Board of Directors. It’s also a way thanking Frank Viviani, who was a tremendous supporter of the Y and a consistent donor.
“Both of our Franks were long-time supporters who really cared about our mission,” Leo said.
To raise funds for the Changing Lives Campaign, the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley hosts a variety of meaningful fund raising and awareness events throughout the year. Each year they award approximately $100,000 in financial assistance. All proceeds from the Y’s Changing Lives Golf Tournament Corporate Cup Challenge support the Y’s Changing Lives Campaign.
