It’s the final of the WTA 500 event in Monterrey, and there will be a new winner and a first title on tour for either of the two finalists. Who will go home with their maiden title at WTA Monterrey?
Head–to–Head: Noskova 0 vs 1 Sun
Either Linda Noskova or Lulu Sun will leave the Sonoma Club’s hardcourts with their maiden tour title. The New Zealander won their previous meeting in Cincinnati just over a week ago, but it was a closely contested encounter. Since that loss, Noskova has racked up four wins without dropping a set, and she showed remarkable steel against Emma Navarro in the semifinal to win in straight sets.
Both are deserving finalists, but only one player can leave with the trophy. While Sun has shone in Monterrey, Noskova has been more efficient and clinical. The Czech teenager has served better than anyone this week, and if she maintains it, she will go home with her first title. Expect fireworks.
Prediction: Noskova in 3
