MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A lucky fan hit a full-court golf putt at halftime of Friday’s Velva vs. Bishop Ryan boys basketball game to win a cool $10,000.
Tonya Harden of Velva entered to take part in the Bishop Ryan Gatorade Golf Challenge.
Harden, who said she had never golfed in her life, lined up and sunk the 94-foot putt like a pro.
Harden told Your News Leader she plans to put the money toward an upcoming family vacation.
It’s not the first time a fan has cashed in on some halftime hijinks at the Lion’s den. Two years ago, then-7th grader JJ Franks went viral for hitting four basketball shots in 25 seconds, including a half court shot, to win $10,000, sending the gym into a frenzy.
The Gatorade Golf Challenge is sponsored by Northern Bottling and Super Omnia.
