Coming back from nearly seven months off, Eclipse Award
winner Just F Y I returned to the work tab Wednesday to prepare for her 4-year-old
debut.
The daughter of Justify who is owned by her breeder George
Krikorian breezed three furlongs in 38.0 seconds at Payson Park. Hall of Fame
trainer Bill Mott has not said yet where and when the champion juvenile filly
of 2023 may make her comeback.
Just F Y I went 3-for-3 in 2023, winning her debut at
Saratoga, the Grade 1 Frizette at Aqueduct and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile
Fillies at Santa Anita. After second-place results in the Ashland (G1) at
Keeneland and as the favorite in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs, Just
F Y I finished sixth June 7 in the Acorn (G1) at Saratoga. Would-be horse of
the year Thorpedo Anna won the Oaks and Acorn. Just F Y I was turned out after
that at Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland.

2025 futures choice on the New Year’s Day work tab.
Graded-stakes winners
Just F Y I (Justify), a two-time Grade 1 winner
(2023 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, 2023 Frizette), worked three furlongs in
38.0 seconds at Payson Park. It was the fifth fastest of nine works at the
distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start, she
placed sixth in the Acorn (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Saratoga
on June 7 for trainer Bill Mott.
Nutella Fella (Runhappy), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Hopeful), worked
seven furlongs in 1:28.8 at Tampa Bay Downs. It was the only works at the
distance. His previous work was 13 days ago going six furlongs at Tampa Bay
Downs. In his last start, he placed third in the Woody Stephens (G1) going
seven furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on June 8 for trainer Gary Contessa.
Big City Lights (Mr. Big), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Palos Verdes),
worked five furlongs in 59.0 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the fastest of 12
works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs
at Santa Anita. In his last start, he won the Cary Grant going seven furlongs
on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 9 for trainer Richard Mandella.
La Cara (Street Sense), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Pocahontas), worked
four furlongs in 48.7 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the fifth fastest of 23
works at the distance. Her previous work was 10 days ago going four furlongs at
Palm Meadows. In her last start, she placed fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile
Fillies going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer
Mark Casse.
Society Man (Good Magic), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Matt Winn), worked
four furlongs in 49.3 seconds at Palm Meadows. It was the 13th fastest of 23
works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going four furlongs at
Palm Meadows. In his last start, he placed second in an allowance race going 1
1/8 miles on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 24 for trainer Danny Gargan.
Kentucky Derby futures
Burning Glory (Into Mischief) worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at
Payson Park. It was the eighth fastest of 13 works at the distance. His
previous work was eight days ago going three furlongs at Payson Park. In his
last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the main track at Churchill
Downs on Dec. 1 for Mott.
