Grade 1 winner Didia, who finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, was back on the track Thursday morning for her first
workout since returning to Kentucky from Del Mar.
Trained by Ignacio Correas for Merriebelle Stable and Resolute
Racing, the 6-year-old Orpen mare breezed three furlongs in 38.8 seconds on the
synthetic training track at Keeneland. Correas has not yet said publicly where the
2024 New York (G1) winner will race next.
There were five graded-stakes winners on the Thanksgiving
work tab.
Didia (Orpen), a Grade 1 winner (2024 New York),
worked three furlongs in 38.8 seconds at Keeneland on Thursday morning. It was
the only work at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In
her last start she placed third in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1)
going 1 3/8 miles on the turf at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Ignacio Correas.
Exaulted (Twirling Candy), a Grade 1 winner (2023 Shoemaker Mile),
worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at The Thoroughbred Center. It was the
third fastest of 13 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago
going four furlongs at The Thoroughbred Center. In his last start he placed
seventh in the Lure going one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on Oct. 19 for
trainer Peter Eurton.
Johannes (Nyquist), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Shoemaker Mile), worked
four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the fifth fastest of 23
works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last
start he placed second in the Breeders’ Cup Mile going one mile on the turf at
Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Tim Yakteen.
Sugar Fish (Accelerate), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2024 Zenyatta,
2024 Summertime Oaks), worked five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Santa Anita. It was
the sixth fastest of nine works at the distance. Her previous work was seven
days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed fifth
in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Del Mar on
Nov. 2 for trainer Jeff Mullins.
Kinza (Carpe Diem), a two-time Grade 3 winner (2024 Santa Ysabel,
2024 Las Virgenes), worked five furlongs in 1:00.4 at Santa Anita. It was the
fastest of nine works at the distance. Her previous work was six days ago going
four furlongs at Santa Anita. In her last start she placed second in the Santa
Anita Oaks (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on April 6
for trainer Bob Baffert.
