En route to the Grade 1, $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational this month at Gulfstream Park, 5-year-old Mixto was back on the
work tab Sunday morning.
The winner of last year’s Pacific Classic (G1) drilled five
furlongs in 1:02.0 on the fast main track at Santa Anita. Owned by Calumet Farm
and trained by Doug O’Neill, Mixto will come back in 20 days from a third-place
finish Nov. 23 in the Native Diver (G3). That race was 1 1/8 miles, the same
distance as the Pegasus.

Mixto (Good Magic), a Grade 1 winner (2024

Raging Torrent (Maximus Mischief), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Malibu),
worked four furlongs in 48.0 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the 12th fastest of
74 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his
last start he won the Malibu (G1) going seven furlongs on the main track at
Santa Anita on Dec. 26 for O’Neill.
Straight No Chaser (Speightster), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Breeders’
Cup Sprint), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Santa Anita. It was the 17th
fastest of 69 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going
four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won the Breeders’ Cup Sprint
going six furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 2 for trainer Dan
Blacker.
Tenma (Nyquist), a Grade 1 winner (2024 Del Mar Debutante), worked
five furlongs in 59.6 seconds at Santa Anita. It was the third fastest of 69
works at the distance. Her previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs
at Santa Anita. In her last start she won the Starlet (G2) going 1 1/16 miles
on the main track at Los Alamitos on Dec. 7 for trainer Bob Baffert.
Masteroffoxhounds (War Front), a two-time Grade 2 winner (2022 John
Henry Turf Championship, 2021 San Marcos), worked three furlongs in 37.4
seconds on turf at Palm Meadows. It was the fastest of eight works at the
distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he
placed 12th in the Seabiscuit Handicap (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at
Del Mar on Nov. 30 for trainer Phil D’Amato.
Anarchist (Distorted Humor), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Pat O’Brien),
worked five furlongs in 1:00.4 at Santa Anita. It was the 12th fastest of 69
works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs
at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed third in the Korea Sprint (G3)
