LA QUINTA, California – The UNCW men’s golf team continued its spring calendar with a tie for 11th place with Stanford at The Prestige hosted by UC Davis at PGA West from Feb. 17-19.
The Seahawks posted a 282-291-283=856 scorecard to finish alongside the Cardinal, who are ranked No. 45 according to the latest Clippd rankings. San Diego claimed the team championship by 16 strokes ahead of No. 23 Texas Tech.
UNCW’s Preston Worch fired a three-under-par 68 in Wednesday’s third round to earn a share of 33rd place in the individual field of 120 players. The Toreros’ Ryan Abuan captured individual medalist honors.
The strong field featured 11 of the top 50-ranked teams in the country.
The Seahawks next resume play at the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate from Mar. 3-4 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
