BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham-area app creator in our area says he wants to reward sports fans for watching and attending sporting events.
Blake Patterson says the Wunderfan app gives you “Wundercoins” just for showing up at a stadium.
And the longer you stay in the stadium or scrolling on the app if you’re at home, the app gives you more virtual coins which you can spend at the stadium or with the app’s partners like apparel or delivery services.
“The TV product is so good in 2024, it‘s hard to get fans in the stadium, so how do we get ’em in? But when we do get ‘em in, how do we reward them?” says Patterson. “The most loyal fans out there are sports fans. What we want to create and what we have created is a app that is for fan engagement. So it’s attend to earn, pick (a team) to earn, and scroll to earn.
Patterson says they are also looking for investment to help develop and grow the app.
Right now, they have about 10,000 users and would like to grow to 100,000.
