The Gannon women’s golf team will be back on the course after a one-week layoff as the Golden Knights tee off in the University of Findlay’s William Beall Fall Classic.
Director of Golf’s Scott Stano‘s team last competed on Sept. 16-17 in the ODU Champions of Women’s Golf Fall Classic, where it finished fourth among 15 teams Gannon senior Ditte Petersen (Dianalund, Denmark/Sorø Akademi Skole) made the all-tournament team that event by placing third in a field of 100 players. She finished with a 7-over 147 total over 36 holes.
The Beall Classic features a talented 17-team field, which includes defending NCAA Division II national champion Indianapolis and Findlay, which won the national title in 2021-22 and placed third last season. Gannon placed fifth among 14 teams in the 2023 Beall Classic.
This tournament will be a 54-hole event, including 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday. A field of about 90 players is expected.
