ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women’s golf team will host the Michael Corbett Fall Classic and play in another Erie County tournament over the next four days.

 

On Saturday, the Golden Knights will compete in the Mercyhurst Laker Fall Invitational as the B Team plays for Gannon at Lake View Country Club. Gunnhildur Gunnarsdóttir, Samantha Turk (Euclid, Ohio/Villa Angela-St. Joseph), Victoria Colmenares (Santa Cruz, Bolivia/ICL Academy), Jillian Gambino (Mayfield Village, Ohio/Mayfield), and Lia Macek (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) are slated to tee it up on Saturday.

 

Gannon will then host the Corbett Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Whispering Woods Golf Club. The Gannon A and B Teams will tee it up with California (Pa.), Franklin Pierce, Malone, Mercyhurst, Malone, Ohio Dominican, and Seton Hill.

 

The Golden Knights won both the Mercyhurst tournament and the Michael Corbett Fall Classic in 2023, so they will attempt to defend their titles this weekend.

 

GU is coming off an eighth-place performance at the highly competitive, 18-team William Beall Fall Class in Findlay, Ohio. Gannon was led by freshman Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) (18th place), senior Ditte Petersen (Dianalund, Denmark/Sorø Akademi Skole) (19th), sophomore Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) (32nd), and senior Andrea Martinez (Tarragona, Spain/Col·legi Vedruna Sagrat Cor) (38th).
