PADUCAH, Ky. – The Belmont women’s golf team is in third place after day one of The Velvet held Monday at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
Belmont carded rounds of 304 and 313 on Monday to finish the day in third place at 617. Austin Peay has the team lead at 596, while UNC-Asheville is second at 612.
Three Bruins are among the top-15 after 36 holes of play. Junior Chloe Tarkany shot rounds of 77 and 74 to finish the day in a tie for sixth place at 151. She is nine strokes back of the individual leader, Caroline Patterson of UNC-Asheville (142).
Freshman Sloane Biddle is two shots back of Tarkany and alone in 10th place at 153. She posted rounds of 76 and 77. Fellow freshman Harper Edwards is one shot back of Biddle and in a tie for 11th place at 154. She shot rounds of 75 and 79.
Junior Eva Graham is tied for 36th place at 160, while sophomore Paige Hammarstrom is tied for 45th place at 163.
Freshman Ainsley Moore, competing as an individual, is in 71st place after posting a Monday score of 170.
