HATTIESBURG, Miss. — The Belmont women’s golf team stands in sixth place after day one of The Judson held Monday at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Belmont carded rounds of 303 and 310 on Monday to finish the day in sixth place at 313. Tarleton State has the team lead at 573, while host Southern Miss is second at 579.
Three Bruins are among the top-25 after 36 holes. Freshman Sloane Biddle is in a tie for sixth place at 145. She posted rounds of 68 and 77 on Monday. The Midstate native is eight strokes back of the individual leader, Mathilde Brogens of Tarleton State (137).
Biddle’s first round 68 equaled the lowest score by a Bruin this year, tying Chloe Tarkany, who shot the same score at Butler last month. Her round included six birdies and two bogeys and now stands as tied for the fourth lowest in program history.
Tarkany and freshman Harper Edwards are tied for 22nd place at 153. Each shot rounds of 77 and 76 during Monday’s play.
Senior Eva Graham is tied for 48th at 162, while sophomore Paige Hammarstrom is tied for 54th place at 165.
The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning with a 8:00am CT shotgun start. Live scoring can be found at BelmontBruins.com.
