INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Belmont women’s golf team stands in seventh place after day one of the Butler Fall Invitational held Monday at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis.
The Bruins carded identical rounds of 297 on Monday to finish the day in seventh place at 594. Youngstown State has the team lead at 574, with host Butler in second at 582. Dayton stands third at 588. A total of eight shots separates third and ninth places.
Leading the way for Belmont is freshman Sloane Biddle. The Old Hickory, Tennessee native shot rounds of 71 and 76 to finish the day tied for 18th place at 147. She is seven strokes back of the individual leader, Kelli Scheck of Butler.
Three Bruins, junior Chloe Tarkany, senior Eva Graham, and freshman Harper Edwards are tied or 28th place at 149. Tarkany posted rounds of 77 and 72, while Graham shot a 75 and 74. Edwards carded a 74 and 75 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Paige Hammarstrom shot an 82 and 81 and is tied for 94th place at 163.
Freshman Ainsley Moore, competing as an individual, is tied for 90th place at 161 after shooting an 80 and 81.
