Women’s Golf Slips on Day Two of The Ally – Troy University Athletics

WEST POINT, Miss. – Troy women’s golf slipped into 15^th place following Tuesday’s second round of The Ally at the Old Waverly Golf Club. Manya Saini posted the low round of the day for the Trojans, shooting a 3-under 75 after carding a 2-under on her back nine.

Troy shot 17-over as a team on Tuesday, slipping from a tie for 11^th place into 15^th place. The Trojans improved greatly on the 17^th and 18^th on Tuesday, shooting even-par as a team after carding a 16-over as a collective unit in Monday’s opening round.

Saini, who started on No. 10, made the turn at 5-over, but rebounded strong on her back nine, carding three birdies en route to a 34 on holes one thru nine. She moved into a tie for 62^nd place, third among Troy individuals.

Laura Fangmayer remains Troy’s clubhouse leader after she shot 5-over on Tuesday, with one birdie to move into a tie for 40^th place, while Victoria Stutts is tied for 55^th place after shooting 76 in the second round with a birdie.

Florida and Mississippi State sit tied atop the leaderboard at 9-under, followed by Vanderbilt (-8), Auburn (-5) and Mercer (+12).

Katelynn Altese is tied with Saini for 62^nd place after she carded a pair of birdies on Tuesday en route to a 77, while Alyssa Mercado is tied for 73^rd place after shooting 79 in the second round, with a birdie on the par-4 fifth.

Troy will play Wednesday’s final round along with Wisconsin and James Madison.
