RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Kennesaw State women’s golf had all five shoot better than 5-over par in the first 18 holes at the Rio Verde Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Owls posted a 12-over par team total to place ninth after the first round at the Rio Verde Country Club.
Scorecard
Sabrina Kim led the pack with a 1-over par 73 to sit tied for 12th overall among individuals.
In her first outing after receiving CUSA Golfer of the Week honors, Nyah Kelly placed 24th overall after Day 1, carding a 2-over par 74.
Alessandra Nagayo turned in a 4-over par 76 to place 44th overall, while Hannah Cheryl Alan and Natasha Korman both finished 5-over to tie for 54th.
Only three golfers did better than both Kelly and Korman on the first day on the Par 3’s. As a team, Kennesaw State tied for the best Par 3 scores on Day 1 (with Xavier), averaging 3.08 strokes.

Kennesaw State will tee off the second round on Saturday, Feb. 22, beginning at noon ET.
