PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf team broke the single-round tournament record for the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, by shooting a 13-under-par (271) to jump up to third on Monday.
The Spartans’ impressive showing on Monday in South Carolina also set a single-round team record. It bested the previous mark of 281 that the women’s team accomplished during the second round of last year’s Elon Women’s Invitational.
Freshman Sophie Lauture led the way for the Spartans, shooting a six-under-par (65) on Monday to move into a tie for first individually at six-under-par (136).
