MOREHEAD, Ky. —
Morehead State’s Women’s Golf team is set to begin the spring portion of the 2024-25 schedule this week at The Advance Golf Partners Collegiate Tournament in Palm City, Florida. The event is hosted by UNC Greensboro.
Morehead State also played in this same tournament in February of 2024 when it finished 3rd of 14.
“The team is excited to get the spring started. Tavia Burgess is coming off of two very solid tournament finishes over the break. She recently made the cut at the Sally in Florida and placed well against a strong field of nationally ranked players,” said Head Coach Stephanie Barker. “We are thrilled to have MacKenzie Moore back in our line-up, as well as Amelia Greenlee. Tuva Marie Isebakke, Isabella Wiley, and Hanna Montgomery are all looking strong as well and ready to compete. There’s always a bit of rust to shake off going into the first tournament, but that is the same for every team. Our team will be well prepared and very competitive this spring.”
Moore was one of two eagles that finished in the top 10 in that tournament, carding a 68-74-76-218 for fourth place.
The Eagles were very consistent in the fall portion of the season, finishing 5th-8th in all five of the tournaments. They look to kick-start the spring portion with a great performance to set the tone for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Mainstays Burgess, Isebakke and Wiley are in the lineup, along with Moore and Greenlee this week. Moore will be seeing just her second action in a tournament lineup in the 2024-25 season after missing much of the early winter with injuries.
Burgess leads the Eagles with a 73.2 season average so far with two top-10 finishes, and one top-five finish so far throughout the season.
The Eagles will begin action on Sunday and will continue through Tuesday.
