PADUCAH, Ky. – The Belmont women’s golf team finished in third place at The Velvet held this week at the Country Club of Paducah in Paducah, Kentucky.
Belmont posted a final round 308 on Tuesday to finish in third place with a 54-hole score of 925. Austin Peay won the event with a score of 897, with UNC-Asheville placing second at 918.
Three Bruins finished among the top-10 at this week’s event. Junior Chloe Tarkany shot a final round 75 to finish in a tie for fifth place with a score of 226. He finished nine shots behind the medalist, Caroline Patterson of UNC-Asheville (217).
In their collegiate debut, freshmen Sloane Biddle and Harper Edwards tied for 10th place at 230. Biddle posted a 77 on Tuesday, while Edwards shot a 76.
Sophomore Paige Hammarstrom tied for 37th place at 243, while senior Eva Graham tied for 41st place at 244.
Freshman Ainsley Moore, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 62nd place at 251.
The women’s golf team will be back in action on September 30-October 1 at the Butler Fall Invitational in Indianapolis.
