PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf team finished third in the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, on Tuesday.
UNCG freshman Sophie Lauture concluded her first tournament competing at the collegiate level in a tie for third. She opened the tournament at even par (71) on Sunday before shooting a six-under par (65) on Monday and one-over-par (72) on Tuesday to finish five-under-par (208).
The team set a single-round record for the course and the UNCG program as a whole on Monday. UNCG shot 13-under-par (271) in the second round, breaking the previous course record of 277 set by Campbell in 2018. Additionally, it set a school record for the Spartans with the previous single-round record for the team (281) coming last fall at the Elon Women’s Invitational.
