LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The IU Indianapolis women’s golf team officially opened its spring schedule on Tuesday (Feb. 11) with the opening two rounds of the BGSU Women’s Intercollegiate on the Blue Course at The Wigwam Resort. Junior Yanah Rolston led the way with rounds of 77 and 83 and is tied for 49th among the 80-player field at 160. 

Sophomore Sydni Zebrauskas is next in line at 164 (84-80) and junior Reagan Sohn posted a score of 165 (83-82) on the day. 

Collectively, the Jaguars posted rounds of 326 and 330 and sit 14th overall at 656 heading into Wednesday’s final round. Abilene Christian paces the field at 606 and Idaho, Northern Illinois and Weber State are tied for second at 607. Individually, ACU’s Ryann Honea, ranked as the No. 86 player in the nation, holds a three shot lead at 144 (72-72) after 36 holes. 

Rolston started well, making eagle on her second hole of the day to quickly get to 2-under. She later made birdie on the par-5, No. 1 as the Jaguars feasted on the hole, getting birdies from Rolston and Nina Wojtczak and an eagle from Sohn. 

Rolston was the team’s low score at 77 in the morning round while Cassidy Ayres, Sohn and Wojtczak were all countable at 83. Wojtczak’s morning round was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on holes 18 and 1. 

Zebrauskas was the team’s low score in round two at 9-over 80 and Sohn shot 82. Rolston had three birdies as part of her round of 83 and Ayres closed at 85. Wojtczak ended her day with a round of 89, matching Nerea Lancho, who played as an individual.
