SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN, Ariz. – The Kansas women’s golf program is set to open its spring season at the Match in the Desert on Monday, Jan. 27 at Prospector Golf Course. The 18-hole stroke play event features three teams ranked in the top 25 nationally.
“We are extremely excited to host again at Superstition Mountain,” said Kansas head coach Lindsay Kuhle. “This is a course where they will be hosting the 2025 NCAA Regional Championship this May.”
The Jayhawks, who won a program-record three-consecutive team titles to close out the fall season, will host the Match in the Desert following a fifth-place finish at last year’s event. The 18-hole event will be played at Prospector Golf Course, which plays at 6,349 yards and as a par 72.
“This course will play shorter with a lot of short irons and wedges and it really comes down to short game and who is putting the best to score well,” Kuhle adds. “We are confident coming off a historic fall season and prepared to start this season well. We had a great training trip down in Arizona this past weekend and all our players played well and look solid.”
Kuhle will travel seniors Lauren Clark, Johanna Ebner and Lily Hirst, junior Amy DeKock, sophomore Lyla Louderbaugh, and freshmen Ebba Nordstedt and Lauren Madson. The Jayhawks will compete with “Kansas A” and a “Kansas B” teams.
Live scoring for the event is available on Golfstat, while fans will be able to follow along with live updates from the official Kansas Women’s Golf Twitter (X) account.
