ASHEBORO, N.C. – The Elon University women’s golf team is third after the first two rounds of the Tot Hill Invitational. College of Charleston is hosting the tournament at the par-72, 6,023-yard Tot Hill Farm Golf Club.

The team shot 300 in the first round, followed by 290 in the second round to post a 36-hole total of 590 (+14) and is in third place. Charleston leads the field with a 7-under par 569, and East Carolina is second at 582 (+6).  

HIGHLIGHTS  

• Ashley Lafontaine had a team-best nine birdies during day one. She carded rounds of 72 and 70 to tie for second place.
• Garland Gould improved her first-round score by seven strokes to card an even-par 72 in the second round to tie for 17th place with a 36-hole total of 151 (+7).
• Kelly Zhao is tied for 23rd place after improving her score by eight strokes to finish day one with a 36-hole total of 152 (+8).
• Charlotte Scully shot two rounds of 76 and is tied for 23rd place with a 36-hole total of 152 (+8).
• Annie Wu carded a 73 in her first round, followed by an 82 in round two, and is tied for 32nd place.
• As individuals, Andrea Asmundsdottir is in 61st place with a 27-over par (171) while Emma Hansen finished the day in 62nd place with a 173 (+29).

UP NEXT 

• The tournament’s final round play begins tomorrow with tee times starting at 7:50 a.m.
