AUGUSTA, Mich. – The NMU women’s golf team wrapped up round one from the DU Panther Invite today. The team sits 10th of 13 teams.
NMU recorded a team score of +43 (331), an average score of 82.75 between the four rounds selected for team scoring. The team was right near course average for the round, as Stonehedge North averaged a score of 82.79 for 73 rounds.
The ‘Cats find themselves one stroke behind LSSU for 9th, who is 10 strokes behind Ohio Dominican for 8th. Saginaw Valley and Davenport lead at +8, followed by Tiffin at +16.

Maddy Martens led the way, scoring a round of +7 (79), with a birdie on the par five 18th to finish 24th individually. Martens started on hole nine, and shot +8 through her first nine holes. She would have a remarkable second half, shooting even with a birdie on the 18th and a bogey on her final hole in her final nine.
Maggie Pietila finished just two strokes behind Martens at +9 (81) and 34th as an individual, including her own second-half success by only shooting +2 in her final 11 holes.
Hailey Bolander and Abbie Pietila rounded out the team scoring with their totals of +13 (85) and +14 (86) to sit 49th and 50th, respectivelly.
Payton Dube turned in a round of +18, and Gabriella Moreau competed as an individual, turning in a +19.
