MOREHEAD, Ky. —
Morehead State’s Women’s Golf team returns to fall action this week at the Johnie Imes Invitational in Missouri. MSU is making its second trip to the Show Me State in as many seasons after finishing fifth out of 13 teams at the Club at Olde Hawthorne last fall.
The Eagles will compete against 12 other schools on Monday (36 holes) and Tuesday (18 holes).
MSU began its season at the Golfweek Fall Challenge two weeks ago on the South Carolina coast, finishing eighth out of 18.
The Eagles’ top player from 2023-24, MacKenzie Moore, will not be in the lineup this week due to injuries, but hopes to return soon. Freshman Tavia Burgess, who already ranks second in the OVC in best scoring average, will head the five-player lineup, followed by Isabella Wiley, Tuva Marie Isebakke, Amelia Rae Greenlee and Hannah Montgomery. Isebakke (fifth) and Wiley (6th) also rank among the best players in the league so far.
Montgomery returns to the active lineup for the first time since the 2023 OVC Championship (Apri; 16-18, 2023). Hannah Curreri will also get to see action this week as an individual. Curreri’s last rounds were at the UIC Briar Ridge Invitational on Sept. 25-26, 2022.
