ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women’s golf team is set to compete in the 2025 Rio Verde Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan at the White Wing Golf Course in Rio Verde, Arizona, from February 21-23. The three-day tournament will feature a competitive field of 19 teams from across the country.
Following a stellar team performance throughout the fall, the Golden Grizzlies aim to continue their momentum at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational hosted by Western Michigan. Lily Bargamian, Savannah Haque, and Olivia Hemmila led the Golden Grizzlies headed into the break and look to continue doing so in Arizona.
The event will consist of 54 holes of stroke play, with one round each day. Round 1 will begin with a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start on Friday, with Rounds 2 and 3 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., respectively. The White Wing Golf Course at Rio Verde Country Club plays as a par-72 at 6,001 yards. The front nine features a par of 35 at 2,816 yards, while the back nine plays to a par of 37 at 3,185 yards.
Oakland will face a strong field, including teams such as Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green State, Bradley, Butler University, California Baptist University, Cal State Northridge, Central Michigan, Creighton University, Illinois State, Kennesaw State University, Loyola of Chicago, Missouri State University, Ohio, University of South Dakota, Utah Tech University, Wichita State, Western Michigan, and Xavier.
