NORMAL, Ill. – Two-time Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Golf Coach of the Year Breanne Hall has earned a contract extension to remain the Redbirds’ head coach through the 2026-27 season, ISU Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs announced on Wednesday.
Hall has helped lead the Redbirds to two MVC Championships over the past three seasons, including in 2023-24 when the Redbirds took the title by a dozen strokes with the third-lowest Championship team score in MVC history. The Birds also won the title in 2022, and both tournament wins earned Hall a MVC Coach of the Year award.
“I am honored and thankful for the opportunity to continue leading the women’s golf program at Illinois State,” said Hall. “I would like to thank Dr. Beggs and Paul Kabbes for their belief in me and this team. This contract extension is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my players. I am excited to continue building on our successes and am committed to pushing our program to new heights. “
Since joining the Redbirds for the 2018-19 golf season, Hall has helped the Redbirds to four individual tournament victories, while nine of the ten lowest team tournament scores in program history have occurred under her tutelage. Additionally, 10 of the 11 lowest single-round scores have come since 2021.
“The women’s golf program at Illinois State has been on the rise, highlighted by two conference championships over the last three years under Bre’s leadership,” said ISU Interim Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs. “Coach Hall has built an incredible program during her time with the Redbirds and is a tremendous leader. She has created a culture of success on and off the course, and I have no doubt that the program will continue to grow under her guidance.”
The program’s 297.4 stroke per round average in 2023-24 broke the program record by over six strokes per round, and her individual golfers had 35 rounds at or under par, which is 13 more than the previous school record – also set during her tenure. In all, the five lowest scoring averages and the three highest number of season rounds at or under par in program history have come with Hall as head coach.
Hall has led two MVC Golfers of the Year – Ali Schrock and Jinyoung Yun – a Newcomer of the Year, and 11 golfers to All-MVC accolades.
Coach Hall and the Redbirds train at one of the finest facilities in the MVC in both the Weibring Golf Club and the Mounier Golf Training Facility.
