OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Belmont women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate held at RTJ Trail at Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
On windy day that caused lots of high scores, Belmont struggled, shooting a 329 to finish in sixth place with a three round score of 942. Troy won the team title with a mark of 907 with North Alabama in second at 913.
Two Bruins finished among the top-15. Freshman Sloane Biddle continued her stellar play from the fall season as she posted a 76 to finish in a tie for fifth place at 227. She was seven shots back of the medalist, Gabi Nicastro of Samford. It was her second top-five and third top-10 finish of the season.
Junior Chloe Tarkany carded a final round 83 to finish in a tie for 12th place at 231. It was her fifth top-20 finish of the season.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: senior Eva Graham (T-31, 240), freshman Harper Edwards (T-46, 248), and sophomore Paige Hammarstrom (T-58, 255).
The women’s golf team is back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Don Benbow Invitational in Tampa, Florida.
