AUGUSTA, Mich. – The NMU women’s golf team moved neither up nor down after round two, claiming 10th of 13 teams from the DU Panther Invitational.
The ‘Cats shaved eight strokes off the team score from round one, shooting +35 for a weekend total of +78.
The Stonehedeg North played slightly easier today compared to yesterday, averaging a score of 81.47. The ‘Cats averaged below that, carding an 80.75 between four rounds.

Maggie Pietila and Maddy Martens were the top two finishers for the ‘Cats on the weekend, placing 26th and 28th individually, respectivelly.
Pietila shot a round of +5 (77) with three birdies, bringing her weekend total to +14. Maggie started her round with a birdie on 12, then shot six over her next six holes. Making the turn back into the first, she then shot even on her final 11 holes, including two birdies in three holes.
Martens, similar to Pietila, started on hole 12 and was seven-over through her first seven. Starting with a par on hole one, Maddy would shoot +1 in her final 11, including a birdie on the par 3 11th to finish her round. Maddy’s round of +8 (80) brought her weekend total to +15.
Hailey Bolander (+11, 83 – two day total of +24) and Abbie Pietila (+11, 83 – two day total of +25) rounded out the team scoring for the ‘Cats, and finished T47 and 49th as individuals.
Payton Dube (+16, 88 – two day total of +34) and Gabriella Moreau (+17, 89 – two day total of +36) completed the Wildcat golfers.
