OMAHA, Neb. – On Friday, Nov. 15, Creighton women’s golf head coach Debbie Conry inked two future Bluejays to letters-of-intent to continue their academic and athletic careers as members of the Creighton women’s golf program. Joining the Bluejays next fall will be local product Madison Murnan, as well as Adysn Schachtel.
“I could not be more excited about adding both Madison and Adysn to our program next year,” said Creighton head coach Debbie Conry. “They are both hard workers and great young ladies. We welcome them both to the Creighton Family.”
Madison Murnan, Omaha, Neb. (Marian High School)
- Led Marian High School to their first State title in Class A since 2010, individually grabbing third place at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island with rounds of 78 and 76 (154).
- Member of the Nebraska Coaches Association Girls Golf Super-State Team in 2024 and 2023.
- Named WOWT Athlete of the Week due to her fantastic play to cap off an undefeated season for Marian.
- Drove her team to a gold medal at the Metro Conference Meet in 2024, bringing home the gold for a first place finish.
- Helped Marian get crowned District champions on Oct. 7 at Stone Creek in the fall of 2024.
- Played a huge role in the 2023 Metro Conference Championship title.
- Collected a 2023 CNJA Championship in the 16+ division after firing a two-day total of 151 (+7).
- Earned a gold medal for rounds of 76 and 79 (155) at the 2022 Nebraska Junior PGA Championship.
- Secured a runner-up finish in 2022 at the 23rd Nebraska Girls’ Amateur Championship.
Adysn Schachtel, Dallas, Texas (Alcuin School)
- Following the conclusion of the 2024 season, Schachtel was named First Team All-County, First Team All-Region, First Team All-Area and First Team All-State.
- Drove Alcuin to a 2024 Regional Championship, Sectional Championship, Conference Championship and State Championship.
- As a sophomore, Schachtel captured a first place trophy at the 2A Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) State Championships in the spring of 2023, winning by a staggering 23 strokes (76-74=150).
- Added First Team All-State to her list of accolades in the 2023 season.
- Continuing her 2023 dominance, she collected a victory at TAPPS regional championship, as well as earned a second place finish at the Denton Ryan Invitational and the Jesuit Invitational.
- Seized Academic All-American honors.
- Average round score during her sophomore campaign was 76.
- In the spring of 2022 in her freshman season, she was the only member of the girls golf team at Alcuin.
- Placed second at the 1A TAPPS State Championships in 2022.
- Earned a second place medal at the AAT: Fall Girls Series – Tangle Ridge tournament in 2023 and 2024, while also taking third place at the AAT: February Girls Open in the fall of 2024.
- Trained with coach Joey Anders, who also happens to be PGA Tour member Jordan Spieth’s coach when he was in high school.
- Started an Instagram account (@girlsforgolf) to promote and inspire girls to become golfers.
