MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Lauren Wamsley has added to her coaching staff for her inaugural season as the head coach of the Middle Tennessee women’s golf program with the addition of Constanza Guerrero as a graduate assistant. Guerrero is a recent graduate of Grand Canyon University, where she played under Wamsley for four years.
“I am very excited to be back with Lauren (Wamsley) at MTSU,” said Guerrero. “I’m looking forward to bringing a good team culture and a competitive environment to Murfreesboro. Working with the student-athletes so far, they have been very welcoming and are ready for this season. I’m excited to showcase all we can do on the course!”
A two-time All-WAC honoree, Guerrero concluded her collegiate career with five top-10 finished in her senior season, placing second in her final regular season tournament and tying for 16th at the Western Athletic Conference Championship. She brought home an individual win at the Jackrabbit Invitational in 2023 and helped lead the Lopes to 11 tournament wins in her four seasons.
Guerrero values both athletic and academic success, serving as team captain at Grand Canyon for two seasons and earning Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar status all four years of her collegiate career.
“I am excited to bring Cons on board,” said Wamsley. “She brings experience in winning in both the team and individual aspects, as well as strong leadership abilities as a former captain. I know she’s going to bring a fiery, competitive attitude to the team, and it will be a great transition for all of us.”
A native of Huelva, Spain, Guerrero ranked 19th in the country and 93rd among all under-18 Europeans on the European Golf Rankings prior to arriving at GCU. She also earned EGR points at the Spanish Ladies International Stroke Play and the International Spanish Stroke Play Championship.
