RICHMOND, Va. — The Washington and Lee University men’s golf team saw two of its players in action at the 75th VSGA Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Richmond Golf Club, on Monday. Competing as individuals, Teddy Ross and Alex Holzapfel are both tied for 10th place, currently sitting at 4-over-par.
The tournament field includes individual participants from both Division I and Division III programs across the Commonwealth and W&L’s golfers are within striking distance of the top positions on the leaderboard.
The two Generals trail the leader, Maxi Puregger from the University of Virginia, who posted a 4-under 67, and are just one stroke out of the top five.
Ross and Holzapfel are among five players tied at 4-over-par, and tee off tomorrow at 9 a.m. for the second round.
