Feb. 4 vs. Indiana: The college game is 40 minutes, but the statement the Badgers made during the first 5 set the tone for a 76-64 wire-to-wire win over the Hoosiers. John Tonje led UW with 15 points and senior guard Max Klesmit totaled 13 and six assists. As for Indiana, the loss appeared to be the last straw for head coach Mike Woodson, who later in the week announced his retirement effective at the end of the season.
Feb. 8 at Iowa: The Badgers’ defense shines during the final 10 minutes and it helped the team complete a regular-season sweep of Iowa with a 74-63 win over the Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tonje scored 14 of his game-high 22 points during the final 8 minutes 35 seconds and John Blackwell posted 19 points and six rebounds.
