MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – On Saturday, Winter sporting enthusiasts lined up to seek out new gear during the Marquette Mountain Racing Team’s Winter Sports Swap at Lakeview Arena.
For more than 30 years, this event has given old gear new life while funding the Marquette Mountain Racing Team.
The event provides countless options for winter sports gear – from hockey, cross-country and downhill skiing, and even some fat tire bikes.
Compound Ski Shop owner and Ski Swap Coordinator Brandon Croney says the sale has been a part of the community for a long time.
“To do it at the Lakeview Arena, get the community involved, get more hockey sales, it’s really worked out well for us and it’s a great partnership between us and the city,” Croney said.
The Marquette Mountain Racing Team receives 25% of sales from the swap for safety gear.
