Jalen Milroe was non-committal as to whether he played his final Alabama football season game on Tuesday. The redshirt junior struggled throughout the Crimson Tide’s 19-13 defeat at the hands of Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

“Right now I’m just going to try to soak up this moment today,” Milroe said after the game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. “Not really try to focus on any future endeavors.”

Alabama was a two-score favorite entering the game, but fell for the second time in a calendar year to Michigan. Milroe’s struggles, especially early, were a major reason why.

The quarterback’s first four drives resulted in a turnover on downs when the QB took a fourth-down sack, two fumbles and an interception. The latter three turnovers all set Michigan up inside Alabama’s red zone.

He finished the game 16-of-32 passing for 192 yards and a touchdown. He also contributed on the ground, including a 41-yard rush.

After the game, Milroe was asked what it meant to him to be the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback.

“It means a lot,” Milroe said. “I put everything on the line. Hardships along the way, lot of doubt, lot of things along the process, but one thing’s for certain: I just remain faithful. I met a lot of great people along the way. It’s truly an honor to wear the script A each and every Saturday, win or loss. I don’t take it lightly at all.”

Milroe will need to make his decision in the near future. The soft deadline for players entering the draft is Jan. 6, while the traditional hard deadline is Jan. 15.

Alabama’s season ended 9-4, its first time not winning 10 or more games since 2007. The Crimson Tide opens the 2025 season at Florida State on Aug. 30.
