I know when I watch Jalen Hurts, I see a guy that I think might be benefiting more from his team than his team is benefiting from him. This might be a little bit of a controversial take, but I think Jalen Hurts might be the most overrated player in football. I think he is the most overrated quarterback in the National Football League.
He leaves a lot to be desired out there, and I know there are people who are goalpost movers who are dying to put him in a top three, top five conversation, but I just don’t see it.
When I watch Jalen Hurts play football, I say to myself, he has the talent, the running ability, he can throw a beautiful deep ball, but there’s something that seems to be missing. When I look at the offensive line Philly has graced him with, it’s probably the best offensive line in football, one of the best offensive lines in football.
He has not had to fight for his life while out there as we’ve seen other quarterbacks have to do in the National Football League. We know the weapons he throws to. People like Dallas Goddert, right? Devonta Smith, AJ Brown. We know the weapons that he has, and it’s not bad when your fourth string wide receiver is Julio Jones, or third string, whatever you want to call him.
Many people can point to the fact that towards the end of the season he was dealing with an injury. Posting quarterback rating in the playoffs of 40. The week before that, against the Giants, 13.
You know, when I watch Jalen Hurts though, I just don’t see a Super Bowl happening. There’s something that seems to be missing. And I do wonder if he’s even the leader that many people thought he might have been coming out of Oklahoma. Hell, the leader he might have been becoming transferring from Alabama. When I watched Jalen Hurts, I see a guy that is very fortunate to play behind the line. He plays with to have the weapons that he has and have the aggressive general manager in front office. That personality has in Philadelphia that is going to do everything in their power to surround him with a winning team.
It is up to Jalen Hurts. Take that next step for me. It’s hard for me to put him in a top five quarterback conversation guys like Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Holmes, right, Justin Herbert, guys, I put over guys that I believe can lead their team help. Will I even put a two with Tiger Biola or I have no idea, but I know when I watch.
Jalen Hurts. I see a guy that I think might be, um, benefiting more from his team than his team is benefiting from him. Just my thoughts. Let me know down in the comments section what you think.
