Qatar Airways’ flagship business class offering is the Qsuite. The industry-leading Qsuite has won countless awards and has become a firm favorite with business class passengers around the world. With superior comfort and luxuries, Qatar Airways markets its Qsuites as ‘First in Business,’ highlighting the increasingly blurred boundaries between first and business class cabins across the industry.
However, not all of Qatar Airways’ aircraft are equipped with the Qsuite. Therefore, for passengers who are desperate to experience the award-winning business class, it is important to know which aircraft do, and also how to spot which aircraft do not, feature the Qsuite.

But first, what makes the Qatar Airways Qsuite so special? The Qsuite cabin’s unique layout means that it can be transformed into a social space for two or more travelers if needed, allowing passengers to work, dine, and socialize together at 40,000 ft. Each private suite features a fully lie-flat bed, ambient lighting, generous storage capacity, and a closing door for total privacy.
Luxurious touches such as a turndown service, sleepwear provided by The White Company, Diptype-branded amenity kits, fine dining, and exceptional customer service all make for an unforgettable journey in the height of luxury.

Qatar Airways business class met all my expectations!
Qatar Airways’ fleet is made up of a variety of aircraft types, some of which are guaranteed to feature the Qsuite. However, with other aircraft types within the fleet, the flagship business class cabin is only offered on certain aircraft.
For example, all of Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-1000s offer the Qsuite, as do all of the carrier’s Boeing 787-9s (although these aircraft feature a slightly different Qsuite to the standard offering, featuring a herringbone layout). The Qsuite is also found on many of Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-900s, Boeing 777-200LRs, and Boeing 777-300ERs.

In terms of the number of each aircraft type currently equipped with the Qsuite, the latest data from Premium-flights.com shows that Qatar Airways currently has 92 aircraft in its fleet featuring the award-winning business class cabin. Passengers looking to guarantee a Qsuite should opt to fly on the carrier’s Airbus A350-1000 or the Boeing 787-9, as shown in the table below:

Qatar Airways’ Qsuite is not featured on any of the airline’s Boeing 787-8s, Airbus A330s, or Airbus A380s, or on any of its narrowbody aircraft, such as the Boeing 737 MAX 8, Airbus A320, and Airbus A321. Qatar Airways’ 787-8s, A330s, and A380s are among the oldest aircraft in the carrier’s fleet, so it is unlikely they will be retrofitted to feature the Qsuite.
When booking a flight, passengers can tell from the seat map if the business class cabin they are traveling in is the Qsuite cabin or not. Qsuites are found in a 1-2-1 layout in business class, while Qatar Airways’ older business class offering comes in a 2-2-2 layout.

It is worth remembering that last-minute aircraft changes for operational reasons may mean that even the best-laid plans to fly in the Qsuite can go wrong. However, even Qatar Airways’ older business class cabin, including that found onboard its narrowbody aircraft, still offers a luxurious and memorable experience, with fully lie-flat beds and the carrier’s exceptional onboard service.
Qatar Airways also has a Qsuite guarantee, entitling passengers due to be traveling on a Qsuite-equipped aircraft to a free flight change within 21 days or a full refund if the aircraft is changed to one with the carrier’s business class cabin.

“Qatar Airways is proud to announce an expansion to the existing Boeing 777X aircraft order with an additional 20, totaling 94 Boeing 777X aircraft. However, the Boeing 777-9 (which forms part of the wider Boeing 777X project, including the smaller 777-8 variant) has been blighted by ongoing delays. Originally due to enter into commercial service in 2020, the launch date has continually been pushed back, and is currently set to 2026. The US manufacturer recently resumed test flights of the aircraft, which have been documented on social media:
