Where Alabama stands in BPI after Tuesday, Feb. 11 games.
This week: Vanderbilt, Alabama
What to know: The Tigers outran a comeback from Vanderbilt, which took its first lead of the game in the second half on Tuesday. Denver Jones, who filled the shoes of guard Aden Holloway when he transferred to Alabama, arrives in Tuscaloosa coming off of a career-high 21 points.
This week: Kentucky, Vanderbilt
What to know: Despite an 11-point loss to Kentucky on Tuesday, the Volunteers jumped the Crimson Tide in the power rankings. Other than still having the top-ranked defense per KenPom, it doesn’t make sense, so trying to explain it further wouldn’t either.
This week: Texas, Auburn
What to know: Threes rained in Austin as Alabama went 17-for-24 for its best shooting performance beyond the arc on Tuesday, seeing the Crimson Tide look like the squad that made a Final Four run last season.
This week: Mississippi State, South Carolina
What to know: After upsetting the top team in the country last Saturday, it was hard to imagine the Gators wouldn’t feed off of the road win with another in Starkville. Count on them to pick up another win against a South Carolina team that’s been winless in SEC play.
This week: Georgia, Arkansas
What to know: A&M got a banged-up Georgia team but will get back to it against a crew of Razorbacks that’ll be hungry for a win after nearly upsetting Alabama in the final seconds in Bud Walton.
This week: Tennessee, Texas
What to know: Before Kentucky took its second victory of the season against Tennessee on Tuesday, a win over South Carolina breathed some much-needed confidence back into the Cats after losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss the week prior.
This week: South Carolina, Mississippi State
What to know: The Rebels only avoided an upset from LSU last Saturday thanks to a game-winning tip-in by Dre Davis. The Gamecocks were hungry for their first win of SEC play, but Ole Miss hung on for a four-point victory.
This week: Alabama, Kentucky
What to know: The majority of players came off of the injury report for the Longhorns’ matchup against Alabama, but they never looked 100%. Texas will be glad to have the homecourt advantage over Kentucky on Saturday.
This week: Oklahoma, Georgia
What to know: Unranked Oklahoma and Georgia are sights for sore eyes as Missouri enters the week looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to Tennessee and Texas A&M. The Tigers bounced back in dominant fashion with an 82-58 defeat of the Sooners.
This week: Florida, Ole Miss
What to know: Although Ole Miss carries the momentum heading into Saturday’s rivalry game, Mississippi State will be out to prove itself after getting beaten by a Florida team that was down starters Alijah Martin and Alex Condon.
This week: Texas A&M, Missouri
What to know: After another one of its typical second-half collapses against Texas A&M, which trailed 32-23 at halftime, the Bulldogs have a chance to get back in the win column at home against Missouri.
This week: LSU, Texas A&M
What to know: After a close one against the Crimson Tide, John Calipari and Arkansas left no doubt that they’d get a win before their fans in Bud Walton Arena against LSU before hitting the road.
This week: Missouri, LSU
What to know: Saturday won’t be pretty in any sense of the word with two of the bottom three teams in the SEC facing off. However, the Sooners have the homecourt advantage.
This week: Auburn, Tennessee
What to know: The Commodores may be 2-3 in their last five, but the 74-69 win over Kentucky to recover from the decimation by the Crimson Tide sees Vandy hang onto hope heading into Tennessee on Saturday.
This week: Arkansas, Oklahoma
What to know: LSU operates on a seven-game string of losses as it hits the road after taking a 70-58 beating from Arkansas.
This week: Ole Miss, Florida
What to know: Next up to get swamped in the Swamp are the Gamecocks, who will need a miracle to stop the Gators.
