Can the Celtics become the first back-to-back NBA champions since the 2017-18 Warriors?
With All-NBA First Team forward Jayson Tatum and reigning NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown once again leading the way, Boston is widely considered the favorite to win the title this season. In addition to their dynamic duo, the Celtics still have key role players like Jrue Holiday, Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White on this incredibly talented roster.
But there will be a few contenders looking to take the Celtics’ crown. In the Eastern Conference, the Knicks made a big splash by acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns, and the 76ers signed Paul George. The Bucks also remain a threat with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard heading into their second season together.
In the Western Conference, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder seem to be ready to make a leap after reaching the 2024 conference semifinals. The Mavericks, Nuggets and Timberwolves could also emerge from the West bracket with superstars like Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic and Anthony Edwards capable of carrying their teams on a nightly basis.
