The Pittsburgh Steelers sport a 6-2 record after nine weeks of the 2024 campaign and things are definitely looking up for the franchise, especially after the move to quarterback Russell Wilson.
But as we were fully aware of at the start of the season, things are not going to be easy in the second half of the year, as the Steelers sport one of the most difficult schedules in the league.
Per Tyler Webb of the Pocket Presence podcast, entering Week 10, the Steelers had the third-most difficult strength of schedule in the NFL over the next nine weeks at .570. Only the Chicago Bears (.632) and Cleveland Browns (.574) have it worse.

Of their remaining games, five of the nine are against teams with a winning record, a group that includes the Washington Commanders (7-2), the Baltimore Ravens (7-3), the Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) and the Kansas City Chiefs (8-0).
The Steelers also have two games against a Cincinnati Bengals team that is sitting at 4-6 but is still certainly dangerous, as evidenced by Cincy’s showing against the Ravens on Thursday night.
The only semblance of a reprieve Pittsburgh gets comes in the form of the Cleveland Browns, who the Steelers face twice in the next five weeks.
Again, we knew the Steelers were going to have a tough second half to navigate when the schedule first came out, so this is nothing new. Thankfully, the Steelers took care of business in the first half of the year to give themselves some wiggle room if they struggle at any point down the stretch.
Ideally, the Steelers win the majority of their games, win the division and secure a high seed in the playoffs. But in order to get to just get to the playoffs, a 4-5 record to close out the season should be enough to get it done.
