Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jalon Walker is one of the top pass rushers in the 2025 NFL draft. Four recent mock drafts project that Walker could anywhere from the No. 8 to the No. 18 pick in the draft.
Two mock drafts agreed and projected the Carolina Panthers to take Walker with the No. 8 pick. The Panthers desperately need to land a pass rusher this offseason. If the Panthers drafted Walker, who is from Salisbury, North Carolina, then he would be returning very close to his hometown.
The Miami Dolphins at pick No. 13 and Seattle Seahawks at pick No. 18 are the two other mock draft landing spots for Walker. Both teams could use pass rushers.
Walker is coming off a breakout junior season where he posted 61 total tackles and 6.5 sacks. He dominated against the Texas Longhorns, who had one of college football’s top offensive lines including projected first-round pick Kelvin Banks.
Walker and 13 other Georgia Bulldogs received invitations to the 2025 NFL combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. It will be important for Walker to measure well at the combine because the 6-foot-2, 245-pound linebacker does not have ideal length for the edge rusher position.
Walker’s NFL departure means Georgia is losing over 75% of its sack production from the 2024 college football season.
