INDIANAPOLIS — It appears the No. 1 Oregon Ducks are headed to Pasadena.

Oregon earned a first-round bye after winning the Big Ten championship Saturday night with a 45-37 win over Penn State at Lucas Oil Stadium. As the No. 1 overall seed, the Ducks are likely headed to the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, where they’ll face the winner of a first-round game between the Nos. 8 and 9 seeds.

As part of the Rose Bowl’s agreement with the CFP, the Big Ten champion plays its quarterfinal game in Pasadena, California.

The College Football Playoff selection show begins at 9 a.m. Sunday (ESPN), when the 12-team bracket will be revealed. The four highest-ranked conference champions earn the top four seeds and a first-round bye.
