How college football fans (probably) reacted to CFP’s third rankings
Before The Snap’s take on the latest College Football Playoff rankings amid SEC chaos.
As Week 13 of the college football season drew to a close, we were treated to a series of high-stakes games, each with the potential to dramatically alter a team’s fate in the College Football Playoff. As we eagerly await the fourth of six rankings, the suspense and excitement of the season continue to build.
According to the latest CFP rankings, Oregon has held its position as the No. 1 seed for the third consecutive week. The top five were as follows: Ohio State is ranked at the No. 2 seed (but would be given the No. 5 seed in the tournament), followed by Texas at the No. 3 seed. Penn State claimed the No. 4 seed, and Indiana was given the projected No. 5 seed.
However, it is important to remember that these rankings are not permanent and are expected to change each week, especially this week after Ohio State dominated Indiana at home, which will surely send the previously undefeated Hoosiers down the rankings. With every matchup from now until the end of the season carrying significant weight, all upcoming games in the final weeks are crucial and must-win situations.
For those eager for the fourth set of College Football Playoff rankings, here’s how to catch this week’s show to see where your team falls.
The fourth of six College Football Playoff top 25 rankings will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 26, after Week 13 games.
The College Football Playoff rankings show can be watched on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET.

In the 2024-25 season, 12 teams will qualify for the College Football Playoff. The top five conference champions will earn automatic bids. The remaining seven highest-ranked teams will complete the 12-team field.
The 12 participating teams in the College Football Playoff bracket will be the five conference champions ranked highest by the CFP selection committee, and the next seven highest-ranked teams.
The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and receive a first-round bye. The fifth conference champion will be seeded where it was ranked or at No. 12 if it is outside the top 12 in the CFP rankings. Non-conference champions ranked in the top four will be seeded beginning at No. 5.
