Memphis Commercial Appeal columns — what is the ‘What’s That’ business feature
Our “What’s That?” column aims to answer that very question about an ongoing construction project in Memphis.
People driving along U.S. 51 in Millington have likely noticed a white building under construction in front of the Forked River Commons shopping center.
Campbell Clinic is increasing its Mid-South presence with this new facility in the Memphis suburb. The physician practice is building a new 4,500-square-foot clinic at 8709 U.S. 51 N. Millington, according to Valerie Toole, chief operating officer of Campbell Clinic.
Toole said Campbell Clinic will have the option to expand another 2,000 square feet on the site. She said Campbell Clinic is expected to open the new Millington clinic by the second quarter of this year.
Campbell Clinic’s Millington facility will include administration space, patient waiting areas, state-of-the-art exam rooms and nearly 2,000 square feet of physical therapy space, according to Toole. The new facility will staff 10 to 12 employees. Toole said Campbell Clinic wanted to expand in Millington because the area is in need of world-class orthopaedic services to support its growing population.
“As the demand for our services grows, so do we,” she said. “Millington and the surrounding area is a sought-after location for residents and new businesses alike. We strategically chose this geographic area, so that we can provide convenient access to care for our valued patients on a regional scale.”
The new Millington location will be Campbell Clinic’s 10th location in the Mid-South. Campbell Clinic, an industry leader in orthopaedics with more than 90 providers and more than 900 employees, opened a new 30,000-square-foot Collierville facility in late 2024 at 1900 W. Poplar Ave.
